AUSTRALIAN FIRST - PERTH TRIALS PUBLIC DRINKING FOUNTAIN ALTERNATIVE

Public water fountains are handy but their hygiene and the taste of the water is at times questionable.
In an Australian first, the City of Perth has enlisted ProAcqua to trial their environmentally innovative, high tech water machines in Forrest Place.
Offering micro-filtered, refrigerated still and sparkling water at a small cost, the ProAcqua water machines are already a huge success in cities across Italy and parts of Europe, with Australia next in line and ready to adopt these game changing water dispensaries.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said the ProAcqua water machines provide a hygienic alternative to the conventional water fountain.
“Not only are the ProAcqua water machines cleaner, they also reduce wasteful plastic consumption by encouraging the use of re-useable water bottles,” Ms Scaffidi said.
“They will also save people a considerable amount of money, as refilling their water bottle will be cheaper than buying a new plastic bottle of water.”
“We are trialling one unit for now with a second planned at the Concourse Train Station, but these water machines have the potential to be installed in public spaces all over the country.”
Joining the Lord Mayor for the launch of the new water machine will be world renowned environmentalist Jon Dee, founder of the organisations Planet Ark and ‘Do Something’.
ProAcqua CEO Joe Muscara said the water machines are much more environmentally friendly.
“There is an unbelievable amount of plastic bottle waste around the world, and we need to start attacking this problem head on,” said Dr Muscara
“Jon Dee was instrumental in reducing the use of plastic shopping bags and we hope with initiatives such as this we can do the same with plastic bottles.” .
